El Botellón (Uproot Andy Bass Remix) on Edilmatoro blog

The Edilmatoro blog is done by a friend of mine, ISA GT who also operates with Girlcore. She is an excellent dj. This track has catchy beats and is originally from Columbia, so gets extra points for exotica.

Gary Low - You Are Danger (Romeo Erotic mix) on Missingtoof

These 80s remixes are quite good, but the Gary Low is particularly excellent. The Treasure Fingers remix of I'm Freaky is also good, but a bit repetitive.

Beastie Boys - Girls on Nerd Network

I am often guilty of suddenly deciding a track is hot that lots of other people have known about for a long time. This may be the case here but for some reason of all the Beastie Boys tracks I know I have never heard this one. And it exemplifies everything I would do if I did party tunes, catchy simple loops, casio type synths, fun lyrics/raps. This will totally drop great in the middle of a set of newer stuff. There is a D-Lake Bmore remix floating around but I don't like it as much.

Mi Ami - African Rhythms on Music Slut blog

A friend from Rough Trade pointed out this Mi Ami band to me and I hunted them down on The Music Slut blog. A lot of their other stuff (check myspace) is not african at all, but it's all good.

Also, FYI, I am doing a slot with Matthew Wowow on the Diesel New Music radio broadcasting on 87.7 FM in London from 6-8 PM on Tuesday the 20th of May. More info here.

So Me - Decalcomania on Le Touch blog

This track is hot. It's extracted the synth/rave bits that are being used in a lot of US hip hop tracks now and made it into a rave only tune. This is an example of the point of this blog - you know Ed Records has all kind of good stuff, but also a lot of stuff that gets boring and you get tired of sifting through it. That's where I come in and find the tracks that stand out!

Q-Feel - Dancing in Heaven on Red Room blog

This is a great track, but most of all I want to draw your attention to the Red Room blog because almost every track is amazing. I spend a lot of time trawling the old rare disco/italo blogs and there are a lot of them, but rarely does someone surprise me with a whole bunch of great tracks that I really like and don't know. This Q-Feel track featured in a fairly cheesy movie but the other tracks on this blog are also fantastic, an italo remix of Freddie Mercury's "Love Kills" and a track from Bamboo that was done with Supermax. WARNING: HI-NRG alert though (I love it).

Ilija Rudman - After Midnight (L.S.B. Remix) on Keytars blog

I always think that I'm too much of a disco lover, but it seems that everyone else is loving it too right now with the fashion illuminati at Disco Bloodbath last weekend and Nathan doing new parties all over the place. Anyway, Keytars & Violins blog has got all kinds of good stuff going on these days. This After Midnight track is soooo good, but I'm also loving the Giorgio Morodor type track by Elitechnique.

And while you're on the excellent rare disco tip - check this out too. Bavarian Affair by Empire.

Late of the Pier Fock on Waves at Night blog

Such a fantastic driving song. Late of the Pier are the hot thing in the UK this year and this is the new one produced by Erol Alkan. You can download from this blog below in good quality. Time to dance. And check their new video for it on the Durrr site here.

Teki Latex on Discobelle

The Lovely Lovely Jonjo pointed this out to me (I can't manage to check EVERY single post on Discobelle) and I think it wins today's prize for most likely to hit the dance floor.

I've discovered this great website Garagepunk.com and I love the first track on this Killed by Porn 37 podcast. It's a track called Surf Muscle by The Wigs apparently from this super hard to find ep from 1980. Podcast listing here.
